"Rose Schneiderman (1882-1972)
Rose Schneiderman is a name that may be unfamiliar to most- but her work is not. For nearly fifty years as a leader of American working women, and an active feminist of her time, her work laid the groundwork for safe conditions in the workplace as well as a being a determined suffragette.
Rose is credited for popularizing the term 'Bread and Roses' in many of her speeches. Bread for sustenance and Roses for quality working conditions for women.
She was a small, fiery red-head but a giant for working women the world over."
