Brooklyn artist Kristen Balouch is the author/illustrator of a handful of children’s books which have been recognized by the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation, Society of Illustrators, SCBWI and more. Her work has evolved from an appreciation of the universal themes in folk art and can be seen in the New York Times, on products for various licensing partners, fabric collections, and solo and group fine art shows in New York. She is the founder of Little Blue Mushroom Literary Agency, bringing poetic image-makers to the children’s book market. She has served on the Banks Street Children's Book Committee and now on the board of the Pen & Ink Brigade.
