Bridget Watson Payne
Bridget Watson Payne is an artist, writer, and art book editor. Her first art show was at San Francisco’s Rare Device in 2018. She wrote and illustrated the journal How Was Your Day? and her drawings have been featured on Shondaland, YOU,Candy, Little U, Frida Art Show, Artists Take Action, and in the book I’d Rather Be Reading. Her artwork is sold by online gallery Citizen Parlor. Bridget is the founder of Open Studio, a shared work, learning, and retail space in San Francisco. She is the author of several books includingHow Art Can Make You Happy. In her seventeen years at independent publisher Chronicle Books, she has collaborated with hundreds of authors and artists to make their book ideas a beautiful reality. She has spoken at Creative Mornings, Alt Summit, HOW Design Live, and many more; taught at Handcraft Studio School, the ICON Illustration Conference, CreativeLive, and elsewhere; juried for the Society of Illustrators; and been featured on KTVU Mornings on 2, Raise Your Hand Say Yes, Cup of Jo, Swiss Miss, and Women Who Draw, among others. Bridget’s next book, How Time is On Your Side,will be released in February. She lives in San Francisco.
