Blair Thornley


Blair Thornley is an illustrator, painter, animator and educator based in San Diego, and in Truro, Mass. Blair’s editorial illustrations have appeared in numerous publications since 1982, among them: New York Times, Boston Globe, LA Times, Washington Post, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Raygun and Herman Miller’s SEE magazine. Neiman Marcus, Mitsubishi and NYNEX are among corporate clients. She provided cover illustrations  for Chicago University Press’s reprinted series of Peter De Vries’ books, and was a contributor to the recently published “ James Thurber Collected Fables”. She has taught at San Diego City College and at UCSD. Blair has exhibited personal work at a variety of galleries, at the Pasadena Museum of Art, and at Judy Saslow Gallery in Chicago. She shows regularly at Harmon Gallery in Wellfleet, MA.
